This project was a 6,000 sf rooftop addition in New York’s Soho neighborhood.

The design of the two-level penthouse combines a more enclosed volume below and a glass box above. The volumes articulated around two decked terraces are enjoyable at both levels. The pattern of the cladding, a laser-cut corten skin secured to the new blue plastered walls of the penthouse, is repeated on the surface of the glass box of the second level, with sandblasted irregular lines that help to preserve the privacy of the space within.
