This 2000 sf rooftop addition in New York City was completed in 2003.

The design of the roof of an existing school tower and the enclosure of the adjacent rooftop terrace were planned to preserve views of Lower Manhattan.

A glass pyramid, whose top is reachable through the stepped bookcase on the perimeter of the tower, a glass cube shaded by horizontal wood slats and a glass and wood vertical box, are the noteworthy architectural elements of this project.

A wooden stair hanging from the roof structure of the glass box provides the link with the floor below.
