This space, the brand’s first flagship in the United States, consists of a two-story height ground floor, a private selling area, and a back office-storage in the basement.
Light and its reflections become a major design element as spaces shift from luminous to ethereal to shadowy in the private selling area.
The existing brick wall on one side is animated by three oversized clear Plexiglass panels sandblasted with a work by Michael Llyn. The fiberoptic light through the panels is transmitted to the top of the display vitrines below. On the opposite side wall, mounted brown glass panels dilate the elongated plan of the store, where clear glass display tables seem to fluctuate.
